One of the most import things you can do when trying to market a product online is build mailing lists. The goal is to be able to stay in contact with a group of people who are interested in what you have to offer. The reason it’s so important to build mailing lists is because it is highly effective free advertising that is always there and growing. It’s a so called “hot market”.

You see it everywhere and it has definitively proved to be true. Yet, there are so many wrong ways to build your list that it is easy for people to fall into the false advertising trap. I would highly discourage buying outside mailing lists (aka optin leads). You must create one yourself through your own advertising efforts.

These are essential tools for creating your own highly responsive email list:

- Autoresponder Service. Make sure the service you use has a good deliverability rate.

- Lead Capture Page. This is your first point of contact with a prospect, make your page attention grabbing. The goal here is to get the visitors name and email address

- Message Series. This is the content delivered to your lead through email. Don’t push too hard to sell anything, just give valuable information and suggest products that will help your list members achieve what they want.

You must design your lead capture page and message series to interest your target audience, people who will eventually buy from you. The message series should be as long as possible without repeating the same topics. This is a way to filter out the people who are not interested in your product, service or bizopp. Then the list of people who have finished the message series are super high quality leads which you can send offers to whenever you want!

You don’t need to be a computer geek to be able to make your website do what you want. It doesn’t matter if you’re running a personal, non profit or internet business website, Just a few steps are needed to install 3rd party scripts and software on your website. After its installed, the controls are very intuitive and most 3rd party website software will allow you to control its functions through an easy to use web interface. So no programming is needed.

There are just a few simple steps needed to install and use website software (I can’t cover every different kind, but for most everyday scripts and software this will work).

1 – Identify which script you need and for what purpose. Get the files you need and any instructions that come with. Once again, you will not need to know how to code CGI or PHP to work with the scripts.

2 – Upload the files to your webserver. Identify a spot you want the script to reside if it is not already specified in the instruction s of your script.

3 – Edit 1 or more configuration files. Usually its just 1 file and all you need is your domain name, install directory (if it’s not in the root). The root directory is your public_html folder. Create any SQL databases needed.

4 – login to the admin interface (webpages) and work with your script or software. All should be intuitive from this point.

5 – Test

Yes it takes a bit of work to make sure everything is installed and works correctly, but once it’s done once you’ll never have to do anything again, just use it. That is the beauty of website scripts and software.

One of the most important aspects of email marketing is that you get a good response on your email ad and maximize your sales conversion rates for people visiting your site or affiliate product. It doesn’t matter whether you have a list of 50 or 5000, without good ad copy and deliverable messages, prospects will not go to visit and buy your products. The good news it there are a few things you can do immediately which will greatly increase the people opening your emails and going to your site.

First and in my opinion, the most important thing you need to do is make attractive URLs. If you have your own domain, always use your domain as the URL even if you are promoting an affiliate site. Never promote ugly affiliate links as it makes you look unprofessional and trying to sell something. There are many services you can use to make your URL more attractive but I won’t go into that.

Second way to increase response on your emails is to make sure your subject is good. Use the persons name if you can in the subject and make your subject arouse curiosity. There aren’t too many tricks to this, just ask yourself would I open this if I saw it in my inbox from someone else?. If the answer is yes, chances are it’s a good subject line.

And Lastly, include your email address and of course sign your name. If someone sees they have a way of contacting you, they will take you more seriously and consider your offer.

The content and body of your email should be as short and to the point as possible. Make sure to emphasize the benefits of visiting your website or buying your product. Never order your reader to do anything, you’ll get better results when they visit on their own free will.

It’s a fact that by using multiple traffic exchanges (TE’s) you can drive tons of traffic to your site. However, unless you know exactly how to pull targeted hits from this traffic, you will not get much (or any) results. Splash pages are used to extract hits from this traffic. But how do you know that your splash page is getting any attention?

(NOTE: a splash page is a simple attention grabbing web page who’s sole purpose is to get the TE surfer to click on your link which takes them to the main site you are promoting)

This is where tracking comes in. You MUST use a URL tracking link on your splash page. Surf the TE’s for a couple days and see how many people click out of the TE from your splash page. The number of hits reported will be the number of targeted hits to your main site the TE’s have generated. If this number is low, make some changes to your splash page. Surf for a few more days and see if this increases.

Simply make slight adjustments to your splash page and watch the number of hits reported by your tracking link. Make sure that you generate at least 1000 hits before you make additional changes. Once you’re happy with the amount of targeted hits you’re getting, stop changing your splash.

And now you have an effective splash page which will get you targeted traffic throughout the traffic exchanges!
